We’re thrilled to share today that Monteverde has been selected as one of four Costa Rican communities considered finalists in the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) One Planet City Challenge. 

When you’re a small rural town in Costa Rica, people don’t really expect to see your name in the news, especially well-known global publications, but that doesn’t seem to apply to Monteverde the cloud-veiled jewel in Costa Rica’s selection of world-class destinations.

Residents of this amazing country have long been aware of the striking beauty of Monteverde’s lush green forests and dramatic landscapes, but when a publication as widely respected as Travel and Leisure Magazine shouts it to the world, it brings us a strong sense of pride.

As we look ahead to 2023, we’re happy to share international recognition for Costa Rica once again, this time from renowned international publication Forbes Centroamerica. 

According to the U.S. newspaper The Washington Post, “Costa Rica is one of the most versatile vacation spots in the world,” remarking the fantastic diversity of places you can find in our small country.

Costa Rica was featured prominently on a recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show  The actress showcased the natural beauty of Costa Rica during the premiere week of what has become one of  CBS' most popular talk and entertainment shows.

It’s always a pleasure when we see the good word about Costa Rica traveling the world, especially when they feature our beautiful hometown in the mountains. And The UK’s Sunday Times went into depth into both this week, thanks to a wonderfully-done travel guide by destination expert Lucy Perrin. 

Costa Rica, from a distance, can look like the very essence of romance. To some, it is a realm of tropical beaches with warm waters and palm trees moved by the breeze. A place that seems to come out of a fantasy film.
